In Super Troidicolor up for voting at Qwertee

I revisited my In Super Troidicolor design, streamlining it to 4 rather than 6 colors so that I could shop it around to some other one-a-day shirt sites. It is currently up for voting at Qwertee. Qwertee tends to do more English-centric pop culture (Dr. Who, Sherlock), so may not be the best choice for sumbitting, but you can throw it a vote just the same if you’d like to see it print:

Things I Have been doing Part 3: Redbubble and Society6

I have a link to my Redbubble site sitting pretty on the right side of your screen. It is where you can buy some of my designs on shirts. I’ve recently added an older design as well as a new Game of Thrones/Final Fantasy 7 mash-up.

Meteor is Coming:

Society6 is similar to Redbubble, but I only use it to make prints available. I already do this via the portfolio section, but it doesn’t hurt to get more exposure. There are only a handful of pieces up there, including this one that is only available through Society6 because it is currently being held by Threadless:

I originally named it ‘Thought and Memory’ after Odin’s ravens Huginn and Muninn (featured as the ravens in the illustration). Some people thought this was a little obscure so I went with ‘Digital Scavengers’ which works about as well really.

Things I Have been doing Part 2: Posters

I was asked by local comic book overlord, Gus Foster, to design a poster for our town’s local roller derby team. I may end up doing another for their last bout if my schedule aligns right.

Drama Lord up for voting at Shirt.Woot

A silly Star Wars design you can turn into a shirt if you and your comrades vote for it:

Things I Have been doing Part 1: Random Shirt Submissions

I have let this space gather dust. Not because I haven’t been doing anything, but rather because I’ve let myself grow complacent with throwing a link onto my Facebook page, hitting enter and running off into the night. Sometimes I chortle when I do this. It depends on the night.

In any event, here is part 1 of my probably multi-day process of throwing some of what I’ve been working on up here. Most of these were Woot submissions, so these may be old news to some:

This was for Woot’s art nouveau derby. I was pleasantly surprised to see how popular art nouveau is in the tshirt world when I started designing them. I spent much time in college drooling stupidly professionally appreciating the line work of many an Alphonse Mucha illustration. Fun fact: I am utterly unable to spell the word “nouveau” without looking it up every. single. time.

Valkyrie Requiem

Next is another woot submission. The derby was animals reenacting history. This was the totally not fabricated story I posted for it:

On October 14th, 1947 the sound barrier was officially broken by a Peregrine Falcon flying at an altitude of very high. Though Peregrine Falcons were known to reach speeds in excess of 322 km/hour while diving, the feat of exploding the sound barrier through level flight was super unexpected and the only dude who was watching dropped his hot dog and was pretty sad about that for a while.

So uhh, this turned out looking kind of abstract, but a falcon breaking the sound barrier was the concept I had in mind when I made it, anyway :P

Breaking Barriers

The last woot submission I’m going to throw up here is pretty straight forward. Steampunk Cereal. When I said straight forward I was assuming you know what steampunk is. If you don’t then go out and buy a monocle and pretend. I will wait.

Sugar and Steam

And then this one. Just a take on the Big Bang Theory.

The Writer up for voting at Shirt.Woot

My latest entry. It is based off of Richard Wilbur’s “The Writer”. I had to read/write a lot of poetry back in the college years, growing ever distant and tiny like on the horizon. Wilbur’s was the first to come to mind when the derby theme mentioned favorite though, so I ran with it. Turned out well, methinks.

[de]Constructed Hero up for voting at DBH

My entry for DBH’s The Dark Knight Rises competition. There is a lot of really cool stuff, so I don’t have much hopes, but it’s good to make a crazy all over design from time to time. I’d do more if they didn’t take forever and have exceptionally low chances of printing :P

Vote here:

Underworld Blossom up for voting at Woot

Woot’s latest derby is Spring: Spring unto Spring my wayward son… or a close approximation to that. I just did a spring design, but here is another one:

It is based off of Greek mythology, specifically, Persephone (diety of spring) and her unfortunate tenure in Hades. I am super pleased with how it turned out, and while it took a while to get in the top 9, it may have a chance at printing, who knows!

The Sword from the Inkwell up for voting at Threadless

I did some revisions to this design I made a few months back. I think it turned out pretty goodly. Hopefully people who click on this link think the same?
